I have been a ballet parent since my daughter was 5. She reached Intermediate Foundation, is now full grown, and still enjoying adult ballet. I still get involved with Victoria’s shows behind the scenes and in admin. She and her teachers are lovely people and the pupils are a credit to the school, showing that young people can work hard, perfom well and be creative with their own choreography. I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the show yesterday. As always, it was so amazing, professional and classy. I loved the variety of dances, beautiful music and costumes. The show flowed seamlessly. It was lovely to watch the higher grades and see what can be aspired to. It was the most enjoyable show to watch, I coud have watched 10 times over! I love that your music and choreography is always traditional and classy. You are heads and shoulders above other ballet schools, really first class. Miss Victoria is a wonderful and inspiring teacher as well as a beautiful dancer herself. She is so encouraging a d gentle and therefore the children just love her classes and seem to progress very quickly. Miss Victoria took my daughter from zero ballet to grade 8 with merit in five years – and now Becca intends to continue doing adult ballet. I would strongly recommend placing your child in the care of this excellent teacher.
My daughter Ellie started classes with The Victoria Hill school of Ballet when she was 6 and immediately fell in love with dancing. Classes were small so every child received individual attention and flourished. The structure of RAD classes enables the children to learn classical ballet but Victoria also enabled every child to show their individual, contemporary flair in the yearly ballet shows. Ellie loved everything about the shows, practicing, dress rehearsals, The Big Performance! Ellie grew in confidence with every year of ballet and her love for dance grew too. She is now 20 and studying for a drama degree and still enjoys The Big Performance! Thank you Victoria for the amazing work you do. – Mandy
My daughter Isobel who is now 15 has been training with Miss Victoria since she was 6yrs old. For nearly 9yrs ballet has been a constant in her life as she has progressed through the grades including the vocational grades. Miss Victoria has maintained very high standards of teaching during this time and makes sure her students are ready before taking any exams or class awards. Isobel also looks forward each week to seeing her ballet friends, many of whom she has known and been dancing with since she started. – Parent
The Victoria Hill Ballet School is a rare gem of a school. My daughter has attended since she was 5 and has blossomed in to a confident and competent dancer. The variety of weekly classes, end of year show cases and theatre ballet performances that the girls can do means that the depth of experience is extensive. My daughter has been part of Victoria Hill’s ballet school since she was three years old. She’s now 11 and currently taking grade 6, intermediate foundation and choreography classes. I’ve always found the ballet school highly professional with an objective to achieve the highest standards possible. My daughter enjoys all her classes and the variety they bring including having different ballet teachers. Ballet has also taught her discipline which she carries through into the rest of her life as well as confidence from doing amazing shows. – Emma Gould
I can not praise Victoria Hill School of Ballet enough. My daughter Annabelle joined when she was 9 and is now 16 and about to start full time vocational ballet training. As a ballet school that operates from local village halls, you might think of it purely as a place of fun but Victoria Hill School of Ballet is one of very few ballet schools locally that offer the opportunity to take RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) exam qualifications. All of the teaching staff are friendly and encouraging whilst maintaining extremely high technical standards which is rewarded in the excellent RAD exam pass rate. As well as having the opportunity to take exams, Annabelle has loved being able to perform in shows and prize giving events. – Parent
My daughter is now 7 and has been attending the Victoria Hill School of Ballet for 4 years. The quality of the teaching is excellent and she has developed a lovely sense of rhythm and balance. She stands beautifully straight and tall and I am convinced that this is in part due to her ballet lessons. Her flexibility is growing, as is her confidence in performing in front of other people. Chloe is 18 now and has been part of Victoria Hill’s School of Ballet since she was six. I have never had to encourage her to keep it up as she has always been motivated herself. Mrs Hill manages to strike a balance between maintaining the strictness and rigour of the discipline, with an open acceptance of her students’ differences; she expects high standards, and Chloe has always wanted to work towards exams. Perhaps more importantly, Chloe has had the joy of performing shows throughout her childhood with Victoria Hill’s school. I feel that Chloe has been blessed with a real gift of being part of a caring and nurturing community of fellow students and teachers in Mrs Hill’s School. – Parent
